These are the last few Handguards left that we stopped making a few years back, they have the Sanders Armory Logo on the side. Once they are gone….that’s it.
The Sanders Armory Keymod handguards are manufactured with 6063 T6 aluminum and is complete with a type III black anodized coating. EVERY Keymod opening can accept a QD Swivel mount!
Our barrel nut is manufactured with 4140 pre-heat treated steel and has a Rockwell hardness of 28 to 32. The barrel nut is drilled to relieve weight while maintaining strength at critical clamping points and has the added benefit of giving the barrel nut some texture for the handguard to grip onto when it is fully clamped. The coating on the barrel nut is nitrocarburized case hardened. This a QPQ (quench, polish, quench) operation commonly referred to as nitrided or melonited.
Since there are no timing issues to worry about with the barrel nut a torque rating of 40 to 60 ft. lb. is sufficient for everyday applications. We recommend a torque, loosen, re-torque install method.
