The Sanders Armory 12.5″ 6.5 Grendel II Side Charge Upper Assembly Black Nitride is built for accuracy, durability, and consistent performance. This complete upper assembly is designed for hunters, competitive sport shooters, and firearm builders who require a reliable, range-ready solution.

At its core is a rugged 12.5″ 4150 CMV (Chrome Moly Vanadium) steel barrel finished in black nitride for corrosion and wear resistance. Each barrel is air-gauged for concentricity and features a single-point cut, 11° polished target crown for repeatable precision. The 1:8 twist rate and carbine-length stainless-steel gas system ensure smooth cycling and stable accuracy under sustained fire.

The assembly includes a premium Side Charge Billet AR-15/M16 Mil-Spec upper receiver with right side charging handle. A lightweight 10″ free-float slimline M-LOK handguard provides excellent heat dissipation and a modular mounting surface for optics or accessories. The muzzle device uses an industry-standard 5/8×24 thread pitch and ships with an A2-style flash suppressor to reduce muzzle flash and improve barrel control.

Our MPI-tested Mil-Spec 6.5 Grendel II bolt carrier group is purpose-engineered for the Grendel/R220 cartridge. The bolt head and steel extractor are specifically designed (not modified) for extended service life and reliable extraction. A Mil-Spec charging handle is included for dependable operation and ease of use.

AR15 BILLET 6.5 Grendel II Side Charge Upper Receiver with Nitride BCG

The Sanders Armory AR15 BILLET 6.5 Grendel (.136) Side Charge Upper Receiver is a custom receiver made from 7075 T6 Grade Billet Aluminum with Mil-A-8625 Type III Hard Coat Anodized Finish and M4 Feed Ramps. This side-charge upper receiver will fit and accept any AR15 Mil-Spec lower receiver and barrel. The Bolt Carrier Group (BCG) is a Side Charge AR15 Mil-Spec Nitride Bolt Carrier that a charging knob to be inserted on the right side. The bolt carrier includes a Mil-Spec AR15 6.5 Grendel bolt head (.136). The Bolt is “true” Mil-Spec dimension, and external surfaces are CNC ground after heat treatment for a precision fit and made with case Hardened 9310 Steel with Phosphate per MIL-STD-171, Hardened 4340 cam pin, Mil-Spec firing pin made of 8740 steel, center-less ground and Hard Chrome coated, the Side-Charge Handles are fortified and made of 4140 Chrome Moly with a Nitride Finish. Guard’s threads from damage and gives the muzzle a finished look when compensator or flash hider isn't installed. Some customers are awaiting a custom or special muzzle device, compensator, or a suppressor. As with many muzzle devices they can increase the muzzle noise and flash by directing the expelled gases sideways or backwards. Which can also be unpleasant if your at a range next to another shooter.
